Our plant breeding focuses on cereals, forage crops, potatoes and pulses and forms the first link in the chain from field to fork. By developing varieties adapted to all parts of Sweden and beyond, we assist farmers in meeting the challenges posed by climate change and new consumer demands. We ensure that our customers have access to the best possible varieties, either from our own breeding programs or through in-licensing.
This is what you will do
The position is within the research project “Resistance breeding for healthy crops” funded by SLU Grogrund and in close collaboration between Lantmännen and SLU. The aim of the position is to develop resistance breeding methods for evaluation of breeding germplasm for economically important diseases on cereals in Sweden. You are expected to conduct research and write scientific publications. You will be employed at Lantmännen and will also be affiliated with Dr. Chawade’s research group at SLU Alnarp at the Department of Plant Breeding.

You will report to Group Manager Variety Development. You will also be affiliated to Dr Chawades group at SLU, Alnarp. The position is located at our office in Svalöv.
